Internship Programme

Margastha Research Foundation (MRF) offers research internship and project-training opportunities to students, researchers, scholars and young professionals interested in plant sciences, biodiversity, ecology and environmental conservation.

The programme is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to scientific research, field surveys, biodiversity documentation, ecological studies, data analysis, scientific writing and conservation-oriented research.

Interns may work under the guidance of experienced researchers, subject experts and project coordinators, depending on their academic background, research interests, previous experience and availability of suitable research projects.

Types of Internship

Short-Term Internship

Duration: 2–4 Weeks

Suitable for students seeking introductory experience in biodiversity, ecology, taxonomy and environmental research.

Research Internship

Duration: 1–3 Months

Designed for students who wish to undertake structured research under the guidance of a subject expert.

Project Training

Duration: 3–6 Months

Suitable for dissertation, project and field-based research work.

Interested candidates should submit their application to Margastha Research Foundation. Where required, candidates should apply through their Head of Department, Institution or University.

    Include academic qualifications, research experience and relevant skills.
  3. Academic Records
    Submit relevant academic mark sheets or certificates.
  4. Statement of Research Interest
    Briefly describe your proposed research interest or project idea.
  5. Institutional Documents
    Bonafide Certificate, recommendation or forwarding letter may be required depending on the programme.

Final project approval will depend on feasibility, research scope, available resources, field permissions and availability of an appropriate mentor.

Internship Fee Structure

The applicable internship or project-training fee may depend on the duration, nature of the project, field requirements, laboratory requirements and level of research training.

Important: The applicable fee, if any, will be communicated to the candidate before confirmation of the internship. Field travel, accommodation, laboratory, analytical, survey or other project-specific expenses may be charged separately where applicable.

Certificate & Research Output

Upon successful completion of the internship and fulfilment of the programme requirements, participants may receive an Internship / Research Training Certificate from Margastha Research Foundation.

Depending on the nature of the project, participants may be required to submit:

  • Scientific article/manuscript
  • Conservation assessment report

Publication of research findings, where applicable, will be subject to research quality, authorship guidelines, institutional requirements, data ownership and scientific publication ethics.

Important Rules

  1. Interns must follow the rules and instructions of Margastha Research Foundation and the concerned project.
  2. Fieldwork must be conducted only with appropriate permission.
  3. Participants must maintain scientific integrity and research ethics.
  4. Research data must not be misused or commercially distributed without appropriate authorization.
  5. Photographs, specimens, datasets and research materials must be used only for approved academic or research purposes.
  6. Participants must follow applicable biodiversity, wildlife, forest and environmental regulations.
  7. Where required, interns must obtain permission or NOC from their university or institution.
  8. Completion certificates will be issued only after satisfactory completion of the assigned internship requirements.
